Council roadshow rolls into Kangaloon
Wingecarribee Shire Council officers will be back on the road this month, visiting the residents of Kangaloon and surrounds on Thursday 16 August as part of a mobile roadshow.
Council’s General Manager Jason Gordon said the information kiosks are an opportunity for residents to ask questions of Council without having to visit the Moss Vale Civic Centre.
“Staff from numerous departments will be on hand to answer questions about a whole range of Council services.
“Engineers, planners, rangers and customer and community service officers will be in attendance to answer any specific Council-related queries residents may have.
The idea of the one-stop-shop was developed from community feedback received during preparation of Wingecarribee 2031+, Council’s long-term community plan for the Southern Highlands.
“This initiative is a direct response from residents who told us they wanted Council to be more actively involved in the community.
“The information kiosk is one method we are using to become more accessible and visible to the public. Each month we will be visiting a different town or village in the Shire,” Mr Gordon said.
The Kangaloon Information Kiosk will be held at Kangaloon Hall on Thursday 16 August from 4pm to 6pm.
Councillors have been invited to attend from 5pm. Residents are welcome to drop in during the kiosk hours but are encouraged to RSVP prior by calling (02) 4868 0761 to ensure appropriate Council staff are on hand to answer their queries.
Further Information Kiosks are scheduled as follows:
- Robertson – 17 October 2012
- Wombeyan Caves Road – 21 November 2012
