Wingecarribee Shire Council will be taking its office on the road and visiting the residents of Canyonleigh on Wednesday 5 October as part of its mobile roadshow.

Council’s General Manager, Jason Gordon said the roadshow – or Information Kiosk – was an opportunity for residents to ask questions of Council without having to visit the Moss Vale Civic Centre.

“Staff from numerous departments will be on hand to answer questions about a whole range of Council services.

“Engineers, Planners and Rangers plus Customer and Community Service Officers will be in attendance to answer any specific Council related queries residents may have,” he said.

The idea of the one-stop-shop grew from community feedback received during preparation of Wingecarribee 2031+, Council’s long-term community plan for the Southern Highlands.

“This initiative is a direct response to for those residents who told us they wanted Council to be more actively involved in the community.

“The Information Kiosk is one of the methods we are using to become more accessible and visible to the public. Each month we will be visiting a town or village in the Shire,” Mr Gordon said.

The next Information Kiosk will be held in the Canyonleigh Community Hall on Wednesday 5 October from 3.30pm to 6.30pm.

Further Information Kiosks are scheduled as follows:

  • Mittagong 2 November 2011
  • Wingello 1 February 2012
  • Colo Vale 7 March 2012
