Wingecarribee Shire Council is looking for applicants to apply for a host of new positions within its Operations Division.

“It’s without a doubt the largest single recruitment drive we’ve held in recent years,” said Council’s Deputy General Manager Operations, Phil Marshall.

In total 21 jobs are on offer.

“Positions vacant include Landscapers, Carpenters, Roadside Vegetation Officers, Labourers, Truck, Backhoe and Street Sweeper Operators,” Mr Marshall said. “And within these fields lie a range of grades including Team Leaders.”

Mr Marshall explained the recruitment drive.

“We have some $12 million invested in mechanical plant at Wingecarribee Shire Council,” he said. “To ensure we use it to its maximum, we want skilled and professional staff operating this machinery, helping to improve our delivery of services to our ratepayers.”

“Importantly, the majority of the positions are newly created,” Mr Marshall added. “This recruitment drive is a commitment from Council to improving the delivery of our services where it counts most.”

“All of the positions are within Council’s Operations Branch, and once filled, will comprise part of our regional construction and maintenance work force.”

For more information on the positions available, visit Council’s website at www.wsc.nsw.gov.au/council/positions-vacant.

All vacancies close Tuesday 30 April.

“We encourage as many applicants to apply for these positions that will be as rewarding as they are diverse,” Mr Marshall added.
