Council kicks off annual Summer Clean Up
Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Resource Recovery Centre will commence its annual Shire-wide Summer Clean Up in Balaclava, Mittagong, Renwick and Welby starting Monday 4 February 2019.
The Clean Up is available to all current domestic Council waste service users and is operated on a pre-book and pre-paid basis.
Old furniture, metals and white goods with doors removed (excluding fridges), sawn timber off-cuts, wrapped glass and mirrors, household goods and mattresses are just some of the items that can be disposed of.
However not all items can be included and old televisions and computer monitors, household waste like food scraps, green waste, domestic recycling, demolition materials and builders rubble, chemicals and hazardous items including poisons, car tyres, batteries and vehicle engines are some of the non-permissible items.
Asbestos and fibrous cement products (fibro) are also not accepted.

Collections cannot exceed two cubic metres (approximately the size of a 7 x 4 foot box trailer) and all items left for collection must be able to be handled by a maximum of two people.
All items for collection must be left out on the Sunday before the scheduled collection week.
Bookings and payments can be made up to 4.30pm on the Friday before the start of collections. Payments in cash can be made at Council’s Moss Vale Civic Centre.
Cheques and credit cards are also accepted.
A flat rate of $81.00 with a 1% surcharge for credit cards applies for each collection.
