Wingecarribee Shire Council is set to transform the courtyard next to Bowral Memorial Hall into a temporary wellness hub between 22 and 26 March 2021.

Eats and Entertainment is a free experience that will operate between 12 noon and 2 pm over five weekdays.

Council’s Community Development Coordinator, Cath Brennan, said the transformation aims to promote wellbeing and encourage visitation to the Bendooley Precinct.

“We’re inviting residents to bring their own lunch or grab a bite to eat from a local business, and join us for a free wellness experience,” she said.

“There will be entertainment and activities such as a petting zoo, children’s story time, visual arts and health and fitness programs.”

Activities are being organised by businesses adjacent to the Precinct: Bowral Central Library, NSW Health, Highlands Community Centres and Bowral and District Art Society.

The experience has been made possible through grant funding secured through the NSW Government’s Festival of Place – Summer Fund for the activation of an underutilised open space centrally located to council and community services in Bowral.

“In activating the space, it is anticipated that there will be increased visitation to the precinct as people come to know this pleasant outdoor courtyard space,” added Ms Brennan.

Bendooley Precinct is located next to Bowral Memorial Hall on Bendooley Street in Bowral.
