Community Assistance Scheme now open

Community groups and organisations across the Southern Highlands are being encouraged to apply for funding as part of Council’s 2022/23 Wingecarribee Community Assistance Scheme.

Now open this year’s program will see Council distribute up to $120,000 to assist local not-for-profit organisations across the Shire.

The scheme aims to encourage and increase participation and support initiatives that promote partnerships within our Highlands community.

Grants and donations can be sought to fund programs, equipment or capital works which aim to establish, improve or enhance cultural, sporting, welfare, community development or leisure services.

In 2021 more than 80 projects put forward by local sports clubs, churches, charities and community centres shared in the funding.

Under the scheme two types of funding are available, Community Assistance Scheme Donations up to $600 and Community Assistance Scheme Grants up to $7,000.

As per this year’s guidelines all funds must be spent by 30 June 2023.

All applications must be submitted online.  Late or incomplete applications will not be considered and successful applicants will be announced at the February 2023 Council meeting.

The Wingecarribee Community Assistance Scheme closes on Friday 13 January 2023.

The opening of this year’s Wingecarribee Community Assistance follows Council’s recent adoption of a Grants, Donations and Sponsorships Policy on 16 November 2022.

This policy provides a framework on how Council proposes to manage future grants, donations and sponsorships.
