Bookings for Wingecarribee Shire Council’s 2021 Seniors Festival activities are set to open Monday 29 March 2021.

Council’s Aged and Disability Officer, Erin Adams urged prospective attendees to view the program ahead of the booking opening.

“With over 60 events planned for this year’s festival, we’re confident we’ve got something to please everyone,” Ms Adams said.

Official events begin on Tuesday 13 April with the Writing your Memoirs workshop within the Bradman Oval Library.

The Festival will close on Saturday 24 April with a concert performed by Rapunzel’s Party at The Venue in Bowral.

“Following the popularity of last year’s events, we’ve added additional concerts to the schedule including a Comedy Festival performance on Thursday 15 April at the Mittagong RSL,” Ms Adams said.

“We recommend that anyone thinking of joining us, have a look at the program beforehand to see what events they may be interested in attending and book from Monday to secure their place.”

“The key message is to get in early to avoid disappointment.”

Returning for this year is the option of online bookings through Council’s website.

“We know most older people are confident computer users and having all the events online allows them to browse events and activities at a time that’s convenient for them,” Ms Adams said.

“However, we’re still more than happy to take bookings in person or over the phone.”

With the theme of this year’s Seniors Festival being ‘In our nature’, the aim of this year’s program is to promote the natural beauty of the Southern Highlands.

“We live in an amazing and naturally diverse area and we’ll be showcasing this beauty through some of this year’s events,” Ms Adams added. “Our Rivercare workshop and Be a visitor in your backyard events for example should be of particular interest to the nature lovers who join us.”

Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Seniors Festival is presented in conjunction with sponsors the Mittagong RSL, Macarthur Disability Services (MDS) and the NSW Government.
