All aboard for World Environment Day

Wingecarribee Shire Council will celebrate World Environment Day on Sunday June 5 with a free bus tour visiting some of the Southern Highland’s most picturesque bushland settings and environmentally significant assets.

Tour highlights will include stopovers at Mount Gibraltar Reserve, Cosgrove Park, the Community Nursery and Stringray Swamp.

During the bus tour participants will have the opportunity to learn about rehabilitation works carried out by the Shire’s community volunteers.

A morning tea and lunch will also be provided. The 2011 theme for World Environment Day is ‘Forest: Nature at your service’.
