19 September, 2017

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that water main construction works are scheduled to commence on Old Bowral Road, Mittagong from Monday 25 September 2017.

The works will involve the replacement of the old water main and the construction of a new 250mm water main by specialist contractor Carve Earthworks.  Construction will be carried out over a distance of 350 metres between the intersections of Old Bowral Road with Lyell Street and Cavendish Street.

Hours of construction will be 7.00am to 6.00pm Mondays to Saturdays.

During these construction hours the immediate work area will be temporarily closed to through traffic.  Access will however be made available to immediate properties fronting Old Bowral Road.

Road users and pedestrians are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions including detours, exercise care when travelling through the construction zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Signage will also be erected and traffic controllers will be stationed on site to manage traffic during work hours.  Where possible, motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Council thanks motorists in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any temporary delays or inconvenience.

The project is scheduled to be completed by late October 2017.  All timeframes are subject to weather conditions.
