Water and sewer main construction – Bowral, Moss Vale and Willow Vale

19 July, 2016

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that as a part of its regular renewal works, new water and sewer mains will be constructed in Moss Vale, Bowral and Willow Vale commencing mid-July.

Starting Monday 18 July, Council contractors Comdain Civil Construction Pty Ltd will commence designing and constructing new sewer mains in Berrima Road, Moss Vale and along parts of Merrigang Street in Bowral.

These works will provide immediate residents with improved sewerage services.

As part of the program new water mains will also be laid along Railway Terrace in Willow Vale and in Bowral’s Corbett Plaza.  These works will involve excavating the old water mains and replacing them with new Polyethylene pipes.

The new water mains will provide greater reliability and consistency for customers.

Letters detailing the extent of both projects have been issued by mail to all affected customers.

The majority of both the sewer main and water main renewals will be undertaken in the road reserve and while every effort will be made to minimise impacts on traffic, some minor disruptions may be unavoidable.

Where works encroach upon the road, traffic controllers will be situated onsite to manage traffic.

Signage will also be erected advising motorists of the works and alternate routes if applicable.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Council apologises for any delays or inconvenience.

Weather permitting, the program is expected to be completed by early November 2016.
