Throsby Street closure

9 June, 2021

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that a section of Throsby Street in Moss Vale will be temporarily closed from Thursday 10 June 2021.

The temporary closure and subsequent detours are necessary to enable road reconstruction activities to safely continue to the final phase.

As of Thursday 10 June, Throsby Street will be closed between Spring and Spencer Streets.  During this time detours will be set-up to enable traffic to access the remainder of Throsby Street via Spencer Street and Arthur Street.

The detours will enable water and sewer main renewal works and road reconstruction activities to continue along a 560-metre section of Throsby Street between Spring Street and Yarrawa Road.

During the temporary closure limited vehicular access will be provided for residents, school buses, emergency service vehicles and waste collection trucks.

Signage will be erected and traffic controllers will be stationed onsite to manage traffic during work hours.

Construction activities will be carried out between 7 am and 5 pm weekdays.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Council thanks residents and motorists in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any delays or inconvenience.

The temporary closure of Throsby Street is expected to remain in place until at least Friday 25 June with the entire project anticipated to be completed by the end of August 2021. All timeframes are subject to weather conditions.
