Station Street night works resume as project nears completion

10 May, 2023

The renewal of Station Street in Bowral is nearing completion with the top layer of asphalt due to be installed tonight.

Night works are scheduled to commence at 6 pm, Wednesday 10 May 2023. Weather permitting, we expect works to be completed by 5 am the next day.

Council’s Director Service and Project Delivery, Karin Targa, welcomed this important project milestone.

“For this section of road, we trialled a new pavement solution called High Modulus Asphalt or EME2,” she said.

“EME2 is an ultra-hard binder and asphalt which forms a thinner but stronger, structural layer of road surfacing.

“This final layer of course asphalt will provide motorists with a smooth, new surface for the travels in and around Bowral Town Centre.”

During work hours the section of road between Bundaroo and Boolwey Streets will be closed in both directions. The bridge at Wingecarribee Street will also be closed to through traffic.

Motorists are reminded to please follow the direction of traffic controllers on site and detour in place.

Once this final layer of asphalt has fully cured, Council will be back to complete line marking.
