11 January, 2018

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that sewer main construction works are scheduled to commence on Merrigang Street, Bowral from Wednesday 17 January 2018.

Works will involve laying a trench within the road reserve and the construction of a new 225mm sewer main by specialist contractor Carve Earthworks.  Construction will be carried out over a distance of 350 metres between the intersections of Queen and Jasmine Streets.

Hours of construction will be 7.00am to 6.00pm Mondays to Saturdays.

During these construction hours one lane to accommodate the immediate work area will be temporarily closed to through traffic.

Detours will be in place via Jasmine Street for east-bound traffic and Queen Street for west-bound traffic.

Road users and pedestrians are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions including detours, exercise care when travelling through the construction zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Signage will also be erected and traffic controllers will be stationed on-site to manage traffic during work hours.  Where possible, motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Council thanks motorists in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any temporary delays or inconvenience.

These works are scheduled to be completed by mid-February 2018.  All timeframes are subject to weather conditions.
