Scheduled roadworks for various streets, Mittagong and Hill Top

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that as part of its annual bitumen re-sealing program, road works are scheduled to commence on a number of streets in the Mittagong and Hill Top areas commencing Wednesday 6 March 2013.

Starting Wednesday 6 March, Council’s contractors will be undertaking bitumen spraying operations across 10 local and regional roads in the Mittagong and Hill Top area.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Traffic controllers will be onsite to manage traffic during the works with speed restrictions of 40kph enforceable (24 hours) during the construction period.

Motorists are cautioned to observe the changed traffic conditions, slow down and exercise care when travelling through the work zones.

During the works motorists may experience short delays.

Roads affected include Wilson Drive (through the Hill Top village area), Old South Road (between Range & Bong Bong Roads), Old Hume Highway (east of Wombeyan Caves Road), Wombeyan Caves Road (west of Spring Hill Road), Jane Court, Spencer, Pioneer, Queen, Richard and William Streets at Mittagong.

On street parking will not be permitted during bitumen spraying operations.

Council apologises for any delays or inconvenience.

Weather permitting, the works should be completed by Friday 8 March 2013.
