22 March, 2013

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that as part of its annual bitumen re-sealing program, road works are scheduled to commence on a number of streets in the Bowral and Mittagong town areas commencing Saturday 23 March 2013.

Starting Saturday 23 March, Council’s contractors will be undertaking bitumen spraying operations in eight streets and car parks within the towns.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Traffic controllers will be onsite to manage traffic during the works with speed restrictions of 40kph enforceable (24 hours) during the construction period.

Motorists are cautioned to observe the changed traffic conditions, slow down and exercise care when travelling through the work zones.

During the works motorists may experience short delays.

Roads affected include Wattle and Argyle Lanes, Banyette Street car park, Hansen Street, Milton Road and Oxley Drive (from Bowral Pool to Mittagong lookout) at Bowral and Pioneer Street (north of Main Street) and Queen Street in Mittagong.

On street parking will not be permitted during bitumen spraying operations.

Council apologises for any delays or inconvenience.

Weather permitting, the works should be completed by Thursday 28 March 2013.
