Roadworks at Aitken Road, Bowral

18 September, 2015

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that portable traffic lights will be erected on Aitken Road in Bowral on Tuesday 22 September 2015.

The portable lights will be installed for the day only to allow Council’s maintenance staff to safely install a new water main beneath the road’s surface.

The work will be carried out in the vicinity of 16 Aitken Road (just south of Bowral High School).

Whilst the temporary lights are operating, the road will be reduced to one-way alternating traffic.  Traffic controllers will also be positioned on-site.

The repairs are being undertaken during the school holidays to minimise disruption but where possible, Council advises motorists to use alternate routes.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose gravel and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Weather permitting the road will be re-opened on Wednesday 23 September.

Council apologises for any delays or inconvenience.
