Road rehabilitation works for Bowral Street, Bowral

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that as part of its ongoing road maintenance program, rehabilitation works are scheduled for Bowral Street, Bowral starting Monday 25 July.

Works will involve the excavation of the existing road surface, construction of a concrete sub-base and re-laying of an asphalt surface.

Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed by September 2011.

The $200,000 rehabilitation works are being funded by the Federal Government’s Roads to Recovery Program.

Changed Traffic Conditions:

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when travelling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones, uneven road surfaces and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Traffic controllers will be onsite to manage traffic during the works with speed restrictions of 40kph enforceable (24 hours) during the construction period.

Speed restrictions shall remain in place until all works are completed and detours will also be set up. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes where possible.

Parking restrictions will also apply in the immediate vicinity of the works as may temporary access to private driveways. All affected residents will subsequently be notified by Council.

Whilst the work will be carried out in two sections to minimise inconvenience, some minor disruptions are inevitable. Council asks the public to exercise patience during this period and will make every effort to minimise disruptions.
