Replacement of bridge over Cuttaway Creek, Mittagong

9 March, 2015

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that temporary delays are expected along Woodland Road in Mittagong, commencing Monday 9 March, as Council replaces the existing bridge across Cuttaway Creek.

Weather permitting, works will commence on Monday 9 March and are expected to be complete by the end of April 2015.

At the start of the construction, Woodlands Road will be closed for approximately one day to allow heavy machinery to access the site.  During this brief closure traffic controllers will be on site and detours will be in place.  There will also be some days during the project construction when Woodlands Road will be reduced to one-lane traffic.  For the remainder of the project, to minimise disruption a temporary road will be built to divert traffic around the construction site.

The construction of the new two-lane concrete bridge is being undertaken by Council contractor, Bridgeworks (Aust) Pty Ltd.

Motorists travelling in the vicinity are reminded to observe the speed restrictions and exercise care when traveling through the work zone and also be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery.

Council apologises for any inconvenience.
