Planned water outage – Sutton Forest

19 September, 2014

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that it will be conducting essential upgrades to the Sutton Forest water supply on Tuesday the 23 and Wednesday 24 September 2014.

The upgrade is necessary in order to rectify a leak in the 300mm water trunk main which supplies water to the village.

The size and complexity of the job requires that the repairs be tackled over two days, which will unfortunately result in a temporary loss of water to some residents over both days.

Weather permitting, Council’s Water Reticulation crews will begin the repairs on Tuesday 23 September.  Works will begin at 9.00am and will affect water supply until approximately 4.00pm.

The temporary disruption will apply to residents of Sutton Forest located between:

  • Exeter Road from Nicholson Street to the Illawarra Highway,
  • The Illawarra Highway from Exeter Road to Dittons Lane,
  • Golden Vale Road from the Illawarra Highway to Oldbury Road and
  • The entire length of Dittons Lane.

On Wednesday 24 September, works will again begin at 9.00am with the water expected to be turned back on by 4.00pm.

Residents affected on Wednesday include those located:

  • On the Illawarra Highway at Golden Vale Road to Oldbury Road,
  • Golden Vale Road from the Illawarra Highway to Dittons Lane, and
  • The entire length of Dittons Lane.

Care should be taken to ensure hot water heaters and washing machines are NOT used and taps are turned off during the interruption of water supply.

Once the water supply is returned, Council recommends slowly turning a cold water tap to allow any trapped air to escape and any discolouration to clear.

Council apologises for any inconvenience.
