Phillip Street frontage reconstruction, Bundanoon

18 December, 2014

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that as of the 5 January 2015, Phillip Street in Bundanoon will be permanently reduced to one-way traffic.

The closure of all east-bound traffic from Church Street to Victoria Street is the first stage of the Phillip Street improvement program.

This project has been designed to improve the amenity around the Bundanoon Primary School street frontage and provide safer pick-up and access for students.  On completion, school children will no longer need to cross the street to enter the school’s grounds.

Other components of the project include constructing kerbing, guttering and a pathway along Phillip Street, providing additional parking spaces and installing two pram ramps at the Church Street intersection.

Two gum trees will also be removed from the road reserve on the request of the school to increase safety and improve student visibility and provide additional parking.

All works have been designed and planned in consultation with both the Bundanoon Primary School and the P & C Association.

Signage will be erected advising motorists of the changed traffic conditions.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Council apologises for any delays or inconvenience.

Weather permitting, the works should be completed by early March 2015.
