Mittagong Pool to remain closed for the season

15 January, 2021

Wingecarribee Shire Council has announced that the Mittagong Swimming Centre will remain closed for the remaining 2020/21 swim season.

The pool was closed in mid-December 2020 after a significant storm and flash flooding event.

“It’s with great regret that we make this call,” said Council’s Acting General Manager Barry Paull.

“After initial clean-up works were complete, investigations found that significant works will be required to bring the three pools back to operational standard.”

Council is currently preparing a scope of works to issue to qualified contractors for rectification works.

The Pool will reopen at the commencement of the 2021/22 summer swim season.

Council apologises for any inconvenience and thanks patrons in advance for their patience.
