Leighton Gardens partially closed for renovation

28 June, 2013

Council is advising that some sections of Leighton Gardens in Moss Vale will be affected by staged closures until Sunday 24 November to allow for renovations.

As part of the Sesquicentenary – or 150th birthday – celebrations of Moss Vale, Councillors voted to move ahead with plans to revitalise the gardens, including new garden beds, replace trees and upgrade facilities.

Areas under construction will be closed, but public amenities and some areas of the park will remain open for use.

Members of the public should follow directions given by construction staff and signage during this time to ensure the safety of both workers and the community.

A public meeting was held on-site on 14 June 2013 and the Landscape Concept Plan was exhibited, resulting in minor amendments.

The concept plan can be viewed on Council’s website by clicking here, at the Civic Centre in Moss Vale or at Bowral and Moss Vale Libraries.

Council will schedule works to avoid the Shire’s annual Tulip Time celebrations and expects the renovations to be completed for the finale of the Moss Vale Sesquicentenary celebrations to be held on 23 November 2013.
