Wingecarribee Shire Council will temporarily close the children’s playground at Lake Alexandra in Mittagong whilst maintenance work is undertaken on the synthetic playground surface.
Repair work will commence Monday 8 August. Weather permitting the playground will re-open for the weekend beginning Saturday 13 August.
“Safety is of paramount importance and we regret having to close the playground for a few days, but the repairs are necessary to ensure the playground remains safe for all of the park’s users,” said Council’s Parks and Open Spaces Coordinator, Greg Bray.
The repairs to the playground’s rubber soft-fall are part of Council’s long-term upgrade of the park which will also see shade structures erected prior to summer.
