Lake Alexandra playground temporarily closed for repairs

UPDATE: Works should be completed by Friday 18th November 2011, after these works are completed the area may remain slightly muddy, this area will be restored to original condition.

Wingecarribee Shire Council will temporarily close the children’s playground at Lake Alexandra in Mittagong whilst maintenance work is undertaken on the synthetic playground surface.

Repair work will commence Monday 8 August. Weather permitting the playground will re-open for the weekend beginning Saturday 13 August.

“Safety is of paramount importance and we regret having to close the playground for a few days, but the repairs are necessary to ensure the playground remains safe for all of the park’s users,” said Council’s Parks and Open Spaces Coordinator, Greg Bray.

The repairs to the playground’s rubber soft-fall are part of Council’s long-term upgrade of the park which will also see shade structures erected prior to summer.

“Council apologises for any inconvenience and will work as swiftly as possible to make sure the playground is back in action as soon as possible.”
