Hamilton Street road works

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that drainage and road construction works are scheduled to commence on Hamilton Avenue, Bowral from Tuesday 13 March 2018.

The works will take place between Banksia Street and Oxley Drive and will involve an upgrade and replacement of the existing storm water drainage and installation of kerb and guttering to improve water flow within the area.

Additional elements of the project will include a road rehabilitation, widening and bitumen sealing.

The widening of the road will require the removal of eight small trees.  On completion of the project these trees will be replaced with suitable native species.  Nesting boxes will be installed in remaining trees to house any bird or animal species that may be displaced during construction.

During construction works Hamilton Avenue will be closed to through traffic with access made available to immediate residents only.

Detours will be setup for the duration of the works.  Signage will also be erected however where possible motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Council thanks residents in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any temporary delays or inconvenience.

Works are expected to be complete by late May 2018. All timeframes are subject to weather conditions.
