Greenhills Road bridge closure

17 April, 2012

Motorists are advised that Cordeaux Creek Bridge on Greenhills Road, Berrima will be closed for a period of up to 12 weeks, commencing Monday 30 April 2012. The closure is required to allow Council crews to demolish the existing timber bridge and construct a new concrete bridge.

Work will involve removing the existing bridge, installing the new precast concrete bridge and reconstruction of bridge approaches.

During the closure period, there will be no access at all across the bridge. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes, via either Mittagong (via Wombeyan Caves Road, fully sealed) or Berrima (via Compton Park Road and Old Mandemar Road, involving sections of unsealed road). These detours will not be signposted.

Total cost of the bridge replacement project is $350,000 and is funded from the Infrastructure Recovery Strategy (IRS).

Further information about the work can be obtained from Council’s Operations Branch on 4860 3006.
