Elizabeth Street water main renewal works

29 September, 2021

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that water main renewal works are scheduled to commence on Elizabeth Street in Moss Vale on Tuesday 6 October 2021.

Works are scheduled to take place within the nature strip along the western side of Elizabeth Street between the Valetta and Kirkham Street roundabouts.

Works will involve the identification of underground services, excavation and renewal of approximately 425 metres of ageing water main. Directional drilling will be used to install pipework, minimising the impact on street trees which will be retained.

Residents and businesses will be notified prior to temporary interruptions to water supply.

During construction, footpaths may be closed and sections of the road may be temporarily reduced to one lane, however, the road will remain open to through traffic.

Traffic controllers will be stationed onsite to manage pedestrian and vehicle access between 7.00 am and 5.30 pm weekdays, and 8 am to 1 pm Saturdays.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic arrangements, exercise care when travelling through the work zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery in the area.

Weather permitting, works are expected to be completed by the end of November 2021.

Works will be undertaken by specialist contractors Killard Infrastructure Pty Ltd.

Council thanks residents and motorists in advance for their cooperation, and apologises for any temporary delays or inconvenience.
