Dual presentations to precede Council Meeting

20 June, 2017

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that two public presentations will precede the upcoming Ordinary Meeting of Council on Wednesday 28 June 2017.

The first will be a public presentation by Hume Coal from 12.30pm to 2.30pm followed by a presentation by Coal Free Southern Highlands (CFSH) from 2.30pm to 3.15pm.

The presentation by Hume Coal will involve details of both development applications that they have made to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.  These applications involve the establishment of a new underground coal mine to the south of Berrima and a new railway line from the proposed mine to join the Boral Cement Works line at New Berrima.

The public presentation by representatives of CFSH will address their research and investigations into the Hume Coal Environmental Impact Statement and their pending submission.  This presentation follows an earlier address held before Council by CFSH on Wednesday 24 May.

The dual presentations are the result of a Notice of Motion passed at the Council Meeting of 24 May 2017 inviting representatives from both Hume Coal and CFSH to deliver their respective addresses.

A 15 minute adjournment will follow before Council moves into the Ordinary Meeting at 3.30pm.

The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers located in the Moss Vale Civic Centre on Elizabeth Street, Moss Vale.

All Council meetings are open to the general public.
