Drainage upgrade works for Lyell Street, Mittagong

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that storm water drainage works are scheduled to commence on Lyell Street in Mittagong from Monday 22 May 2017.

The works will involve construction of new storm water drainage and storm water pits including minor repairs to the existing kerb and guttering on Lyell Street.  Works will be focus on an area between the Old Hume Highway and Priestley Street, Mittagong.

During construction sections of the road may be reduced to one-way traffic however the road will remain open to immediate residents and through traffic.

Road users and pedestrians are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions including detours, exercise care when travelling through the construction zones and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the work areas.

Signage will also be erected and traffic controllers will be stationed on site to manage traffic during the works.  Where possible, motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Council thanks motorists in advance for their cooperation and apologises for any temporary delays or inconvenience.

The project is scheduled to be completed by late August 2017.  All timeframes are subject to weather conditions.
