Council offers clarification on Sutherland Park proposal

24 April, 2012

A Year 11 Geography assignment survey form currently being distributed by a student at Frensham School inadvertently misrepresents Council’s position with regard to the property known as Sutherland Park on Eridge Park Road at Burradoo.

The survey states that “in 2010 (Sutherland Park Estate) was given the green light by Wingecarribee Council if public support is in favour”. This is not the case.

At its meeting on 8 September 2010, Council resolved not to proceed with the rezoning of Sutherland Park, but did reaffirm its support for inclusion of the property for consideration for future rezoning within the context of the preparation of the Local Planning Strategy. The Local Planning Strategy is currently being prepared by Council staff.

Subsequent to that resolution of 8 September 2010, Council received a Land Use Application for a 21 lot subdivision on the Sutherland Park property. At its meeting on 11 April 2012 Council resolved to approve the Application subject to certain conditions.
