CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS – Moss Vale Road, Bowral

21 February, 2013

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that as part of the recent announcement that it had received funding from the State Government to upgrade some of Shire’s busiest bus stops, road works are scheduled to commence on Moss Vale Road in Bowral in anticipation of this street’s bus shelter.

Works will begin on Monday 25 February 2013 on the western side of Moss Vale Road between Alcorn Street and Links Road in Bowral.

Works will include:

  • the construction of stormwater drainage, kerb and guttering,
  • pavement widening,
  • installation of new bus shelter,
  • construction of a centre road pedestrian refuge, and
  • signage installation and line marking.

Road users are cautioned to follow the changed traffic conditions, exercise care when traveling through the work zones and be aware of heavy machinery within the work areas. A Police enforceable speed restriction of 40kph is applicable during work hours for the duration of the construction period.

Motorists are cautioned to observe the changed traffic conditions, slow down and exercise care when travelling through the work zones. Motorists may also experience short delays.

During the construction period, there will be occasions where vehicular access to immediate properties may be restricted. Council’s on site Team Leader will liaise with any affected parties to minimise any disruption.

Council apologises for any delays or inconvenience.

Weather permitting, the works should be completed by early May 2013 at a cost of approximately $420,000.

Works on remaining bus shelters in Robertson and Moss Vale are expected to begin by late 2013.
