Changed traffic conditions – Ellsmore Road

8 September, 2014

Wingecarribee Shire Council is advising motorists to exercise care when travelling along Ellsmore Road in Bundanoon.

The caution is a result of recent heavy rain which has contributed to some sections of the unsealed road being rough and the road surface slippery.

Motorists are advised to slow down as loose stones may also be present on the road.

Council recommends only immediate residents use the road whilst the current conditions exist.  Non-essential users travelling between Bundanoon and Exeter – including all heavy vehicles – are encouraged to use alternate sealed main roads such as Bundanoon/Exeter Road.

The caution specifically relates to a 950 metre section of the road between Ringwood Lane and Morgans Road.

Council apologises for any delays or inconvenience.

A report with recommendations of proposed actions to repair the road will be prepared for consideration by Council later this month.

Recent wet weather has led to the deterioration of numerous unsealed roads across the Shire.  When driving on unsealed roads Council reminds motorists to always drive to the conditions and never cross floodwaters.
