Braemar Ave re-opens to single lane traffic

6 April, 2020

Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that Braemar Avenue in Braemar is now open to single-lane through traffic.

A temporary single-lane traffic arrangement is currently in operation with a ‘Give way’ sign leading from the Old Hume Highway traffic lights.  No passing or overtaking is permitted over the culvert and within this single lane.

The temporary single lane arrangement follows the recent full-road closure to enable staff of Council and contractors to construct stormwater and drainage culverts works.

With the major box culvert structure now in place, crews have been able to partially re-open the road while the remainder of works continue either side of the single lane.

Motorists are asked to continue to exercise caution and be aware of workmen on site and adhere to the temporary construction speed limits.  Traffic arrangements through the worksite can change at short notice whilst construction activities continue.

Council apologises for the temporary delay and inconvenience to motorists and thanks immediate residents for the patience shown throughout the construction.

Works are expected to be complete by June 2020.  All timeframes are subject to weather conditions.
