Asphalt work at Mittagong Playhouse
Wingecarribee Shire Council wishes to advise that the car park in Main Street Mittagong, and road side parking located on both sides of Bowral Road, will be closed on the evening of Sunday 30 November 2014.
The temporary closure – located on the corner of the Old Hume Highway and Bowral Road and immediately adjacent to the Mittagong Playhouse – is necessary in order for Council contractors to lay new asphalt in the car park.
The upgrades are part of a larger capital works project designed to improve the hard surface area around the Playhouse precinct.
These works include removing the existing asphalt footpath, upgrading kerbing, guttering and drainage and reinstating brick pavers on both footpaths adjacent to the Playhouse.
Pedestrian access to the Playhouse will not be affected.
Traffic Controllers will be on site for the duration of the closure.
Motorists and pedestrians travelling along Bowral Road and within the Main Street car park are reminded to exercise care when traveling through the work zone and be aware of loose stones and heavy machinery within the area.
