Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Resource Recovery Centre (RRC) is now accepting waste from essential service operators.

Essential services are classified as commercial customers who are permitted to work under the current NSW Government health orders.

Southern Highlands-based landscapers, mowing contractors, tradespeople and veterinarians can now access the RRC to dispose of materials generated by their work.

Examples of waste accepted include building waste, green waste, co-mingled recycling waste, scrap metal and asbestos as per existing hazardous materials disposal criteria.

The exemption applies to essential services only.  Residential customers wishing to dispose of household waste, recyclables and green waste are not classified as essential and are unfortunately not permitted to use the RRC until lockdown restrictions ease.

Council’s regular residential bin collection service continues to operate as per normal.

Access to the Moss Vale Resource Recovery Centre is also available to rural property owners who use the facility as their primary source of disposal for putrescible waste such as food waste.  Any waste brought in by rural property owners should be appropriately bagged or binned.

Both the Community Recycling Centre (CRC) and Reviva Centre, which are located within the grounds of the RRC, are also temporarily closed.

As per government health orders the RRC is currently operating with minimal staff.  All essential service customers visiting the RRC will be required to check-in on arrival.

Council apologises for any temporary delay or inconvenience.
