Public playgrounds are set to reopen across the Shire as COVID-19 restrictions are eased throughout the state.

Council has progressively begun re-opening public playgrounds, skate parks and outdoor exercise equipment across the Shire as of Monday 18 May.

The re-opening is in-line with the NSW Government’s recently announced first stage easing of social restrictions.

Prior to playgrounds and exercise facilities re-opening, Council will first conduct an inspection of all play equipment, remove safety tape and erect new health and safety signage.

These signs will include warnings detailing the need to observe current social distancing restrictions, maintenance of good hygiene practices including the use of personal hand sanitizers and a request to stay at home and avoid the use of any public equipment if you are feeling unwell.

Council also reminds users that it is their responsibility to leave the area if it is too busy.

All Council-managed playgrounds, skateparks and outdoor exercise equipment are expected to be re-opened by Friday 22 May 2020.

Council thanks all facility users for their continued cooperation and apologises for any temporary inconvenience.
