More than just a shed
The Colo Vale Men’s Shed is set to receive $130,000 in funding towards the construction of a brand-new Men’s Shed.
The money was made available following community discussion on the best way to distribute proceeds of the sale from the old Council-owned Rural Fire Service (RFS) shed on Banksia Street in Colo Vale.
The money will be used to construct a concrete slab, erect a shed, install electrical and plumbing fittings and undertake assorted additional works on a new Men’s Shed.
The balance of the funds from the sale will be determined in the near future after further discussions are had between Council’s Administrator and the local community.
Men’s Sheds provide a place where men meet and keep busy in a safe atmosphere of old-fashioned mateship.
