Mittagong Pool will be the first of the Shire’s public pools to open this weekend as Wingecarribee Shire Council prepares for the upcoming swimming season.

The pool officially opens this Saturday 15 October.

Operating hours are 6am to 9am Monday to Friday with a closure during the middle of the day.

The facility will re-open at 2pm and close at 6pm.

Limited recreational swimming will be available on Monday and Tuesday nights from 6pm to 9pm when the pool will remain open for Water Polo and Friday nights from 6pm to 8pm during Swim Club activities.

On weekends and Public Holidays the pool will open at 10am and close at 6pm.

Should patronage fall below 20 people by 5pm and the weather is not conducive to swimming, the Pool Supervisors may close the pool an hour early at 5pm.

During the Christmas School Holidays Council will extend the swimming hours at the pool.

Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Manager Business Services, Peter Bowmer, said Council was gearing up for a bumper year.

“Council has spent the off-season preparing all our pools for the expectant crowds,” he said.

“In the coming weeks we’ll be launching a brand new ‘Whale Tail’ pool toy which is sure to be a summer family hit.”

All Council pools are heated to 24 degrees.

Bowral, Moss Vale and Bundanoon Pools will open in November.
