Residents of Merrigang Street are invited to attend a workshop on Tuesday 20 August 2013 to hear about progress on the street’s upgrade and to choose a replacement species of street trees which will enable the refurbishment of the popular Bowral street.

The $1.9 million dollar upgrade includes the relocation of the existing gas and water mains, installation of new stormwater pipework, construction of new kerb and guttering, reconstructing the road pavement and planting of 60 new advanced trees.

Councillors voted in May to defer the upgrade of the street until after this year’s Tulip Time celebrations.

The workshop will be held from 4.30pm, with registration from 4.15pm, on Tuesday 20 August 2013 in the Bowral Memorial Hall in Bendooley Street, Street, Bowral.

An Information Kit about the project and the tree species shortlisted for consideration is available for viewing at www.wsc.nsw.gov.au/merrigang-street.

Attendees are asked to RSVP prior on 4868 0888 or via email at customer.service@wsc.nsw.gov.au to assist with catering and room set up.
