Wingecarribee Shire Council is inviting members of the public to meet representatives from the NSW Government’s Local Land Services this month as they travel the region as part of their local customer forum.

Whilst on their tour of the area, board members from the South East Region of the Local Land Services will be at the Moss Vale CWA Rooms on Wednesday 17 September.

Local land managers, stakeholders and community members will have the opportunity to speak to the representatives about local issues and priorities.

The Local Land Services administers agricultural production advice, biosecurity, natural resource management and emergency management.

The Local Land Services manages eleven regions across NSW including the Central Tablelands, Central West, Greater Sydney, Hunter, Murray, North Coast, Northern Tablelands, North West, Riverina, South East and Western regions.

Each region is accountable for delivering services that add value to local industries, enhance natural resources, protect industries from pests and disease and help communities respond to emergencies like flood, fire and drought.

Local Boards are headed by local Chairs who work closely with farmers, landholders and communities with each region developing operational management plans that reflect regional priorities.

The South East Region of the Local Land Services covers an area from Wollongong in the north to the Victorian border and includes the areas of Goulburn-Mulwaree, the Shoalhaven, Eurobodalla, Cooma-Monaro, Snowy River, Bega Valley and Wingecarribee Shires.

The South East Local Land Services Forum will be held on Wednesday the 17 September 2014 from 9am to 12 noon at the CWA Rooms located on the corner of Elizabeth Street and Donkin Avenue in Moss Vale.

Members of the public are welcome to attend but RSVP’s are required by emailing geoff.oconnor@lls.nsw.gov.au or by phoning 4861 9010 by Monday 15 September 2014.
