Wingecarribee Shire Council is inviting members of the public to attend a meeting between the Local Government Grants Commission and Council on Friday 23 August 2013.

The purpose of the public meeting is for the Commission to explain its operations and how it determines and calculates general purpose grants paid under the provisions of the Commonwealth Local Government (Financial Assistance) Act 1995. The meeting will also provide Council with the opportunity to present its particular problems and for the Commission to view firsthand Council’s circumstances.

Apart from discussing a broad range of grants issues, the meeting will also explain rate pegging, capital needs and the influence of Council’s spending.

The meeting will be held from 1.30pm in the Council Chamber at the Civic Centre, Elizabeth Street, Moss Vale.
