Mittagong Caravan Park has been awarded Best Inland Caravan Park for a second successive year by the Caravan & Camping Industry Association of NSW (CCIA).

The Council leased caravan park took home the top honours at the CCIA annual Awards of Excellence gala evening held at Sydney’s Luna Park in October.

Lessee’s Brett and Sue Funnell backed up their 2017 trophy by being judged the Best Inland Caravan Park (100 sites or less) in the state.

The Caravan & Camping Industry Association of NSW’s Awards of Excellence are held each year to recognise businesses that are ‘best in field’ for their respective categories.  Classes include small and large size holiday parks, service providers, RV manufacturers, dealers and employees.

Association President Theo Whitmont said nominations for the 2018 awards were received from across NSW.

“These awards are an important way for us to recognise the outstanding achievement of the member businesses that help to make this such a successful and important sector of the visitor economy, especially in regional NSW,” he said.

Wingecarribee Shire Council’s Deputy General Manager Operations, Finance and Risk, Mr Barry Paull said the award presented to the Mittagong Caravan Park was a credit to the onsite proprietors.

“Being voted the best in your category amongst your peers is a huge accomplishment,” he said.  “But winning the award two years in a row is something very special indeed.”

“Council congratulates Brett and Sue on a stellar job at what is a very beautiful park.”

‘Best of the Best’ NSW Holiday Park was awarded to Tweed Coast Holiday Parks located at Kingscliff Beach on the far NSW North Coast.
