study lock-in

With this year’s group of enthusiastic year 12 students just around the corner from their final exams, Wingecarribee Shire Council is hosting a HSC lock-in at Bowral Library to help cram in some last minute study.

As part of its ongoing program to help local young people prepare for their Higher School Certificates, Bowral Library has coordinated the evening to give students exclusive access to the library as well as a unique and supportive study environment.

Council’s Children’s and Youth Librarian Trudy Eccleston said the event offered an opportunity for students to change up their study routine and take advantage of library staff expertise.

“Some students find that they need some time out from studying at home, others might find the group study environment helps them to focus, and we also have library staff on hand to help out,” she said.

“We’ve offered this lock-in study event for the last couple of years and the feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive,” Trudy said.  “We felt this was a way for the library to support local young people to do their best in their exams and help kickstart their future.”

The HSC Night Shift lock-in study session is free to attend and will be held at the Bowral Library, Bendooley Street, on Tuesday, 7 October from 6.30pm until 10pm.

Students can come with a group of friends or individually and refreshments will be provided – for those who need an extra pick-me-up through the night, bring along $5 for pizza.

Wingecarribee Libraries have supported HSC students with a variety of study events throughout the year, including a HSC skills and essay writing seminar which was held earlier in the year and an Area of Study seminar in July.

Limited places are available for this event, so please book online at www.bowralhsclockin.eventbrite.com.au.
