Wingecarribee Shire Council is encouraging local business owners to take part in an online survey to better understand economic trends and issues facing local operators.

The survey is being undertaken by the Department of Regional NSW and will be critical in the update of statewide Regional Economic Development Strategies (REDS).

The Wingecarribee Regional Economic Development Strategy is one of 38 regional-based strategies.

Council’s Director Corporate Strategy and Resourcing Carmel Foster said the survey was specifically designed for regional business communities.

“The issues and challenges facing regional business operators such as those across our Shire are often different to those of our metro-counterparts,” she said.

“Events such as the bushfires, pandemic, floods and even the scrapping of a proposed new coal mine in Berrima have all impacted local business decisions in recent years.”

The online survey is managed by PricewaterhouseCoopers and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.  All information collected from the survey will be treated as strictly confidential.

The survey closes 30 June 2022.

“The REDS Update Business Survey is an opportunity for local businesses owners to shape the new Wingecarribee Regional Economic Development Strategy and guide future economic development priorities for our Shire.”
