Wingecarribee Shire Council’s draft Parks Strategy was this month formally adopted following unanimously support by Councillors.

Adopted at Wednesday 23 November’s Ordinary Meeting of Council, the Parks Strategy details how the Shire’s parks will be managed in the years ahead.

“The strategy looks at how Council will provide, develop and maintain our Shire’s parks for future generations,” said Council’s Parks Assets Coordinator, Peter Byrne.

The strategy was developed by looking at both the current number of parks Council maintains and also allowing for future growth.

Specific issues looked at within the document include the number, location, accessibility and type of parks to be provided and the level of service to which these parks should be maintained.

In unanimously endorsing the strategy, Councillors commended staff on the preparation and presentation of the document.
