Wingecarribee Shire Council is warning residents to be aware of people impersonating Council staff offering services for cash.

“It’s been brought to Council’s attention that a number of our Shire’s residents have been approached by people posing as Council staff offering to paint their house numbers on their kerb and guttering in exchange for cash,” said Council’s Director of Infrastructure Services, Michael Brearley.

“Wingecarribee Shire Council would like to reiterate that we are not undertaking any kerbside painting program and under no circumstances will our maintenance staff ask for cash in exchange for services.

“Council encourages any resident who may be approached by these bogus workers to ask for identification and note the registration number of the vehicle and report the matter to Police,” Mr Brearley said.
