Wingecarribee Shire Council is undertaking a survey calling on the Shire’s youth for their views on living in the Southern Highlands.

The survey will form the basis of the Shire’s Youth Strategy.

“It’s very important that in developing this strategy we make it as informative and as relevant as possible,” explained Council’s Youth Liaison Officer, Michelle Williams.

“To do this we want to hear the views and suggestions of the young people it will most affect.”

“We want to hear what our young people like about living in the Southern Highlands and what makes our Shire so unique,” Ms Williams said.

“But at the same time we want to hear their opinion on what could be improved,” she added.  “This could include services, facilities or even opportunities.”

Young people aged between 12 and 25 years are invited to complete the online survey at www.yoursaywingecarribee.com.au/youth.

By completing the survey by Monday 21 September participants will be in the running to win an iPad mini, a Fitbit, a $50 visa card or cinema tickets.

Results from the survey will also be used to explore themes and topics at an upcoming Youth Forum to be held later in the year.

“We encourage as many of our young people to complete the survey and provide their thoughts on living, schooling, working and socialising in the Southern Highlands.”
