Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking comment from the public on its revised Community Engagement Policy.

The policy outlines how community engagement is integrated into Council activities in order to support decision-making and strengthen relationships.

Council’s Deputy General Manager Corporate, Strategy and Development Services, Mark Pepping, explained the purpose of the revised policy.

“Whenever Council introduces a policy we make sure to review it every few years,” he said.  “This is done to ensure it remain current and relevant.”

“The majority of the changes included in the revision of this Community Engagement Policy reflect the legislative changes that have come into effect since the policy was first adopted by Council in 2014.”

The revised Community Engagement Policy is currently on public exhibition until 11 March 2019 following endorsement from Councillors late last year.

To view a copy of the revised policy visit www.yoursaywingecarribee.com.au/engagementpolicy or view in person at Council’s Civic Centre located at 68 Elizabeth Street in Moss Vale.

Submissions can be made online or in writing addressed to Wingecarribee Shire Council, PO Box 141 Moss Vale 2577 or alternatively by email at mail@wsc.nsw.gov.au.

Submissions and feedback close at 9.00am on Monday 11 March 2019.

Following the close of the exhibition period, a final report considering submissions will be presented to Council.
