With the weather warming up Wingecarribee Shire Council is encouraging bike riders to don their helmets and participate in the Cycle for Active Transport – Helmet Hero competition for a chance to win.

Residents of all ages are encouraged to collect a helmet reward card from participating outlets and after completing four local trips, present their Australian Standard Approved helmet at each location to collect a reward stamp.

Once all four stamps have been collected, pop the helmet reward card into the entry box at participating locations for a chance to win.

Entry cards and stamps can be collected from:

  • Bowral Pool and Central Library
  • Moss Vale War Memorial and Aquatic Centre and Library
  • Southern Highlands PCYC and Mittagong Library
  • The Friendly Grocer and Newsagency in Robertson
  • The Village Store and Newsagent in Hill Top
  • Wingello General Store
  • Bundanoon Newsagent and Pool
  • New Berrima General Store
  • Exeter General Store
  • Berrima Courthouse Museum
  • Colo Vale Convenience Store

Council’s Road Safety Office Melanie Lausz said the competition was a way to reward residents for their commitment to safe and sustainable living.

“The competition is all about encouraging local residents to strap on a helmet and safely explore the beautiful towns and villages of the Wingecarribee Shire,” said Ms Lausz.

Prizes include family passes to the movies, swimming pool entries and ten pin bowling and sporting vouchers.

“There’s no limit to how many times you can enter so the more reward cards you complete the better your chances of winning.”

Entries close 9 January 2017.
