Wingecarribee Shire Council officers will be back on the road this month, visiting the residents of Hill Top on Wednesday 20 February as part of a mobile roadshow.

Council’s General Manager Jason Gordon said the information kiosks are an opportunity for residents to ask questions of Council without having to visit the Moss Vale Civic Centre.

“Staff from numerous departments will be on hand to answer questions and promote a whole range of Council services in an informal environment. Engineers, planners, rangers and customer and community service officers will be in attendance to answer any specific Council-related queries residents may have.”

The idea of the one-stop-shop was developed from community feedback received during preparation of the long-term community plan for the Southern Highlands Wingecarribee 2031+.

“This initiative is a direct response from residents who told us they wanted Council to be more actively involved in the community. We introduced the information kiosk concept to become more accessible and visible to the public.

“We have been visiting a town or village in the Shire each month and in the second half of 2011 met with residents in Bundanoon, Burrawang, Balmoral, Canyonleigh and Mittagong. In 2012 we got out to Wingello, Colo Vale, Avoca, Exeter, Berrima, Yerrinbool, Kangaloon, Robertson and the Wombeyan Caves Road area,” Mr Gordon said.

The Hill Top Information Kiosk will be held at Hill Top Community Centre, corner of Rosina and Cumbertine Streets, on Wednesday 20 February between 3.30pm and 6.30pm.

Councillors have been invited to attend from 5pm. Residents are welcome to drop in during the kiosk hours but are encouraged to RSVP prior by calling (02) 4868 0888 to ensure appropriate Council staff are on hand to answer their queries.

The next Council Information Kiosk will be held in Penrose on 20 March 2013 at Penrose Community Hall.
