Work on the Shire’s first indoor aquatic facility moved another step closer with the announcement that Wingecarribee Shire Council will be calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the design and project management services for the Moss Vale swimming centre this week.

Chairman of the Indoor Aquatic Working Group, Councillor Larry Whipper reassured ratepayers that Council would be seeking community involvement in the project.

“This process is about finding consultants that are interested in being involved with the project for a future tender,” he said.

“Before Council appoints the consultant, a full program of community engagement will be undertaken that will include input into the project.”

“In the interim, Council continues to develop the concept plan, project estimate and associated business plan which is expected to be available for public comment during the last quarter of 2011. This component will be integral in finalising the concept of the centre,” he said.

Expression of Interest documents can be obtained at no cost via Council’s tendering web site located at: tenders.nsw.gov.au and entering “EOI – 6704/4.1” in the search box under Current Tenders.

New users must complete a New User Registration to access the document.

Expressions of Interest close at 10am on Tuesday 5 July 2011.
